Project Overview

UI/UX Design

Development

The Cultivist team decided to create a better tool for their audience to find and book the best art events. The end product should have operated as a Progressive Web Application, working seamlessly with the mobile devices. Product has to be created from scratch with the latest technologies and support several 3rd party integrations, including Salesforce.

Problem

The Cultivist’s existing web experience lacked responsiveness and optimization for mobile users, which significantly impacted how their members interacted with the platform on the go.

Furthermore, many of the new features the client envisioned—like club card accessibility, real-time bonus tracking, personalized geolocation data, and enhanced security—required dedicated mobile-first development.

The growing complexity of their membership system and global reach demanded a more sophisticated, user-friendly, and future-ready solution.

Business need

Scalability

Enhance the platform to support more features and global member activity

Smart Memberships

Provide members with a seamless mobile experience tailored for cultural exploration

Mobile Excellence

Create a mobile experience that highlights the brand's premium essence while engaging users with intuitive design and seamless navigation.

Data Security

Ensure tight integration with Salesforce CRM for member data management and event syncing. Eliminate unauthorized use of club cards with strong security layers

Requirements

Develop a progressive web app (PWA) that would function smoothly on all devices.

Create a user-friendly and secure mobile app with native-like performance.

Design a scalable membership model that supports different tiers and benefits.

Integrate with Salesforce for real-time member data synchronization.

Implement geolocation features for more personalized recommendations.

Build a robust system for events and filters, with category-based navigation.

What does the process look like?

We began with an in-depth analysis of the client’s existing system, technical specifications, and business goals. Collaborating closely with The Cultivist team, we gathered insights on current limitations and mapped out the new digital architecture.

We translated complex membership structures and event flows into intuitive user journeys. For this client, we always prepare several options for visual solutions, as some of the design layouts are required for AB testing. Special attention was given to mobile UX, accessibility, and multi-device consistency.

Our team built both the web and mobile app components using a modular, scalable approach. We tightly integrated Salesforce APIs to ensure real-time syncing of member data, events, and tier privileges.

We implemented advanced security features such as unique card-binding mechanisms, geo-fencing, and backend-level validations to prevent misuse of membership cards.

A thorough QA process ensured flawless performance across devices. We tested for edge cases, security breaches, performance under load, and overall usability.

Key features

Progressive Web Application

Even though mobile apps dominate in terms of time spent, mobile web platforms actually reach a much larger audience. In fact, the number of users accessing websites on mobile is nearly three times higher than those using apps—and that gap is growing fast.

Across most industries, mobile now drives more searches than desktop.

Subscription &
Digital Club Cards

Members can now access their digital club card directly in the app, collect and redeem bonuses, and see their benefit history—all without needing to log into the website.

We designed a flexible subscription model allowing users to sign up for different membership levels, each with its own set of exclusive privileges and access points.

Event Filtering & Navigation

Filters on mobile are always a tricky thing to implement, as we need to position a lot of different options on one screen. In The Cultivist filters are very clear and easy to use.

The content was another very interesting challenge to work with since we have multiple categories with a lot of items in each category and a mandatory image for each item.
